First Championship Win in Fifteen Years:

The Black Forest Academy Falcons capped a remarkable postseason run with a dominant performance at the DODEA-Europe Division II girls volleyball championships, sweeping all 12 sets in Vicenza, Italy, to secure the 2024–25 title.

After runner-up finishes the previous two seasons, this year’s group arrived, led by Head Coach McKell determined to finish the job—and did so with depth, resilience, and poise.

The Falcons entered the European tournament with a 4-4 regular-season record, including a 2-4 mark against Division I opponents. They earned their spot in the championship bracket after advancing through a tight three-way tie in the Division II qualifier held Oct. 31–Nov. 1 in Vicenza. Once the finals began, however, BFA shifted into a different gear.

Midway through the title match, the Falcons’ depth was tested when junior opposite hitter Priscilla S. rolled her ankle late in the first set. Despite the setback, the team collectively stepped up, maintaining its momentum and completing another straight-set victory.

“Her performance earned her Division II tournament MVP honors and the title of 2025 Stars and Stripes European Girls Volleyball Athlete of the Year.”

While the championship reflected the strength of the entire squad, Priscilla played a central role throughout the season. The 5-foot-9 left-handed hitter recorded 198 kills with a .270 hitting efficiency and added 50 aces on 91% serving. She also delivered defensively, posting 217 digs and averaging 2.4 on defense and 2.1 in serve-receive passing—well above typical team averages.

Her performance earned her Division II tournament MVP honors and the title of 2025 Stars and Stripes European Girls Volleyball Athlete of the Year.

Left-handed and always with a smile, Priscilla led the way this season.

From the qualifier to the championship sweep, the Falcons’ season was marked by great teamwork. Each player contributed in crucial moments, and the group’s trust in one another fueled its postseason surge.

With several returners, including Priscilla, the future looks promising. But for now, the Falcons can celebrate this long-awaited achievement: a Division II championship, earned fully as a team and for His glory.
